Arsenal to get Bernardo Silva: Fabrizio Romano discloses the veracity of the transfer rumour

Fabrizio Romano recently weighed in on the ongoing rumors surrounding Arsenal’s potential interest in Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva for a summer transfer. The Portuguese player has been a subject of transfer talks for quite some time, with clubs like Barcelona and PSG frequently linked to him. Reports suggest that these clubs will continue to pursue him once the current season concludes.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has established a strong transfer relationship with Premier League rivals like Manchester City. Players like Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have previously made the direct switch from Etihad to Arsenal. This connection is notable, especially since Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, was previously part of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff.

In response to these transfer speculations, Fabrizio Romano provided insights during the Daily Briefing. He mentioned that while there have been talks linking Bernardo Silva to Arsenal, he personally has not received any concrete information regarding such a move. Romano highlighted that Bernardo Silva’s release clause is set at £50 million, but Manchester City is reluctant to see him join a Premier League rival, which could complicate any potential transfer.

Romano also shared his expectations regarding Bernardo Silva’s future, suggesting that if he were to leave Manchester City, it’s more likely that he would opt for a move abroad rather than staying within the Premier League. Barcelona’s longstanding interest in Bernardo Silva has been known, further fueling speculations about a possible move.

Switching gears, Romano also touched upon reports linking Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy to Arsenal. He mentioned that while Mendy’s future is still uncertain—potentially open to a transfer or contract extension—Real Madrid’s recent acquisition of Alphonso Davies indicates that they might need to offload a left-back. This situation opens up the possibility of Mendy leaving, with Arsenal being one of the clubs reportedly interested.

It’s worth noting that Manchester United and Liverpool are also monitoring Ferland Mendy’s situation, indicating a competitive landscape for the player’s potential transfer. These developments highlight the intricate dynamics of the summer transfer window and the complexities involved in player movements between top clubs across Europe.
