SAD NEWS: ‘Happened twice’: Journalist sitting behind Postecoglou shares real reason why he went ‘ballistic’ at Yves Bissouma

Don't worry about it – Ange Postecoglou brushes off series of Spurs setbacks | beIN SPORTS

Ange Postecoglou was not a happy man last night as his Tottenham Hotspur side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Spurs’ hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League have taken a huge hit.

The North Londoners seemed like the favourites to pip Aston Villa to fourth at one point, but following three consecutive defeats in the Premier League, their chances of making it are hanging by a thread.

Tottenham looked really poor last night, especially in the first half.

Postecoglou showed us a different side of him on the touchline – he was absolutely furious with what some of his players were doing.

Now, a journalist who sat behind the Australian has revealed the real reason for his anger.

Tottenham produced one of their poorest performances under Ange Postecoglou last night.

MORE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STORIES

The North Londoners have had a decent season, but results over the last six weeks haven’t been great – they’ve won just two of their last seven games.

Spurs fans were hoping to get the better of Chelsea last night. The Blues have had a terrible campaign under Mauricio Pochettino, and Tottenham were the favourites to get the win.

However, Spurs players just didn’t turn up, and Postecoglou was far from happy on the touchline.

Gary Neville, who was on Sky Sports, spotted the Tottenham boss having a huge go at Pape Matar Sarr and Cristian Romero for what they were doing with the ball.

Now, journalist Ryan Taylor of The Mirror who sat right behind Postecoglou at Stamford Bridge last night, has revealed that the Aussie went ‘ballistic’ at two other Spurs players – Yves Bissouma and Emerson Royal.

That’s because the two of them, for whatever reason, didn’t want to switch the play to the right, where Brennan Johnson was the outlet for Spurs.

Taylor tweeted: “Sat behind Big Ange. In moments prior to (Chalobah’s) goal, he went absolutely ballistic at Yves Bissouma for failing to switch play. Happened twice. Also anger with Emerson for same offence.

“Brennan Johnson is the out-ball but Spurs failing to open pitch, something Chelsea have done so well.”

Tottenham’s next four games as Champions League hopes hang by a thread

Just a few weeks ago, most Tottenham fans would’ve been confident that their side would leapfrog Aston Villa and finish fourth in the table.

However, the chance of that happening now looks bleak.

Tottenham are seven points behind Unai Emery‘s side. Ange Postecoglou’s men do have a game in hand, but that still may not be enough, especially as Spurs’ goal difference (13) is significantly worse than Villa’s (21).

The next four games become really important for Tottenham, but unfortunately for them, two of those fixtures look extremely daunting.

The North Londoners face Liverpool at Anfield this weekend and after a home against Burnley, they host title favourites Manchester City.

Spurs’ final game of the campaign is against already-relegated Sheffield United away from home.
