When the Chicago Bulls went all-in in 2021, they didn’t hold anything back. In addition to their signings of DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso, they made a trade at the previous deadline to bring in star center Nikola Vucevic. They shipped out serious assets for the center, forming a new core group in Chicago.

However, since the Bulls added Vucevic, they’ve only won a single playoff game. And in each of the past two seasons, they finished with a below-.500 record and missed the playoffs. So what went wrong? How much was Vucevic at fault? Did the Bulls fail to do him justice with how they used him?
